How do I use Soap Nuts?
Detailed instructions for the various uses for Soap Nuts can be found on our “How to Use Soap Nuts” page.

How are the Soap Nuts packed?
Our Soap Nuts are packaged in re-sealable grip seal bags. We thought long and hard about packaging and considered many alternatives to polythene. However, we cannot control how they will be treated in the post - will they be left outside your door in the rain? To keep them dry we had no practical alternative.  Also the more weight - the higher the postage charge.

How do I store Soap Nuts?
Like most natural products, Soap Nuts keep in better condition, and for longer, if they are kept cool and dry. Store them in the grip seal bags and you have a handy re-sealable bag when they are finally all used.

Do Soap Nuts have a “shelf life”.
We are advised by our supplier that, if kept dry, Soap Nuts have a shelf life of at least three years.

Where are Soap Nuts grown?
Soap Nuts are grown extensively in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. For more information  please visit our “Soap Nuts” page.

How many washes can I get from a pack of Soap Nuts?
Normally you would expect to pay more for something “natural” and that has had all the chemicals left out or removed! Well, here is something absolutely pure for a fraction of the price of chemical detergents. Please look at the detailed instructions on our “How to use Soap Nuts” page.

Can I use Soap Nuts if I am allergic to washing detergent?
Soap Nuts  release pure soap. No bleaches / optical brighteners. Many people who are irritated by the chemicals in commercial    detergents find they can use Soap Nuts.

Is any soap released in the rinse cycle?
Soap Nuts release pure soap (Saponin) in warm water (40o +) and above. The hotter the water, the more soap is released. In cold water rinses, hardly any soap is released.

Do they leave any smell?
Soap Nuts have a faint "vinegary" smell, but leave no smell on your clothes..  If you wish to add one you can add about 6 drops of your favourite essential oil in the fabric conditioner drawer or on a soft cloth in the tumble dryer (which I find is more effective).

How do I order?
Simply go to the “To Buy” page and follow the instructions.  Any problems give us a call.

Do you accept cheques / cash?
No problem or Postal Orders. Simply choose the Cheque, Postal Order or cash payment option on our checkout pages.
Please note: Cheque payments will incur a delivery delay of up to seven days to allow for cheque clearance. Postal Orders will be treated as cash and deliveries will go out immediately.

How long will I have to wait for my order?
Orders received (Mon-Fri) are posted  the next day. (Or even the same day if received before 12.00 am)
Customers are kept informed of the status of their orders.
We use Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard Delivery or Parcel Force.  Delivery costs are included in the price. (UK Mainland)
